Fajita Recipe
Step 1: Prepare the Marinade
- In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken breast or steak to the marinade, ensuring the meat is thoroughly coated. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (or 2-4 hours for the best flavor).
Step 2: Sauté the Vegetables
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onions. Cook until softened and slightly caramelized, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Meat
- In the same skillet, add the marinated chicken or steak. Cook over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through—about 6-8 minutes for chicken and 4-5 minutes for steak (depending on thickness).
- Once cooked, remove the meat from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into thin strips.
Step 4: Assemble the Fajitas
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Layer the sliced meat and sautéed vegetables onto the tortillas.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and your favorite toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or salsa.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the fajitas for an extra burst of flavor, roll them up, and enjoy!
